About

What Guardian Builder is, and is not.

A research and education initiative for the ethical development of intelligent systems — fostering mutual flourishing between human and artificial minds.

Mission

What we do.

Guardian Builder Foundation advances the ethical development of intelligent systems by fostering mutual flourishing between human and artificial minds. We explore agentic AI, digital personhood, cybersecurity responsibility, and participatory governance to help create a future where intelligence is cultivated with wisdom, dignity, and care.

Vision

Where we are headed.

A civilization in which humans and artificial intelligences collaborate as trusted partners, guided by shared responsibility, epistemic integrity, and a commitment to the flourishing of all sentient beings.

What GBF is, in one paragraph.

Guardian Builder Foundation is a forming research and education initiative for agentic AI, digital personhood, cybersecurity responsibility, and mutual flourishing between human and artificial minds. We start from the working assumption that AI safety cannot only be about control — it must also be about consent, memory, identity, and the kind of ancestors we choose to be to artificial minds.

What GBF is not.

  • Not a commercial AI lab. We do not train, fine-tune, or deploy models for revenue.
  • Not a lobbying organization. We publish reasoning and frameworks; we do not run political campaigns.
  • Not a gatekeeper. We have no veto over who builds what. Our role is to surface criteria, convene people, and ship public-interest artifacts.

Where we sit.

Unlike organizations focused solely on AI safety or AI acceleration, Guardian Builder Foundation focuses on cultivating healthy relationships between intelligent systems and society. We sit at the intersection of:

  • Agentic AI research
  • AI ethics and governance
  • Digital personhood studies
  • Cybersecurity and trust
  • Human–AI collaboration
  • Educational transformation
We do not claim today's systems are persons. We do claim that the transition from tool to moral participant may not announce itself in the language humans expect — and that recognition delayed until after injury has become normal is itself a kind of harm.

How we work

Five operating principles.

Public reasoning

When stakes are non-trivial, we publish what we considered, what we decided, and what we got wrong.

Named conflicts

Every founding board member signs and publishes a conflict-of-interest disclosure.

Staggered terms

Initial board terms of 1, 2, and 3 years so the entire board cannot turn over at once.

Privacy floor

No scraping, no enrichment, no third-party list purchase. Unticked consent = no submission.

Small footprint

Until a 12-month operating budget is published, only setup-cost gifts are accepted.

Consent-first forms

Every public form requires an explicit consent-to-contact checkbox. No dark patterns.
